The Museums Australia 2015 Conference (#ma2015syd) will have a new pre-conference day, MEET, focussing on Education, Audience Evaluation and Technology. It will be held before the conference on Thursday 21 May at the Australian National Maritime Museum, Darling Harbour.
MEET will bring together Australia’s experts in education, evaluation and digital to:
- explore the intersections between these areas
- identify opportunities to address the changing needs of our sector, and
- share our tools and techniques to create discussion and dialogue that responds to new business models in the cultural sector.
We are encouraging all interested folks to register for the day and consider proposing a lightning talk (max 7 mins) to address any aspects of education, evaluation or technology in museums, or even the intersection between them. Structure your lightning talk by framing it within these three key areas:
- I have a big idea
- I have problem
- I have something I need help with
Propose your lightning talk by emailing Angela Casey (angela.casey@nma.gov.au ) with a title and brief outline of your proposed presentation. The MEET committee will select a range of talks that represent education, evaluation and digital. Please direct any inquiries to Angela.
MA2015 conference attendees can register for the day via the Museums Australia conference conlog site. Staff who are not attending the main conference but would like to participate in the MEET day can do so by registering online directly via Eventbrite.
We may have a special guest surprise speaker so watch this space…
We look forward an exciting and valuable set of talks!
